That is a well charted reef. You don’t pass on the west side of Blind Is. That’s the only way you would end up in that position. I would assume the captain is a newbie and not familiar with the area. Just because there is water doen’t mean clear sailing. I hope it’s not an expensive lesson.
This is capt deb fritz i was the one who was on scene who took the pic and to answer the first question the boat ran aground there, and by the time we got the word she was high and dry, the anchor you see out was put there by some good sam’s in hope that it would keep the boat from rolling over, and it did the job.
Was this boat at anchor when the tide went out, or did it run aground there?
