Lynne, In most cases the CG only runs when life is in jeopardy. If they ran every time someone had an issue on the water there would be no time for their other functions.

Hi Lynne, Not much new at this meeting. The emphasis was on various organizations and agencies working together. When someone is in trouble it's about getting the job done, not bragging rights.

Richard, say hi to Roger for me, he and I had the honor of being put on the C-Port board at last years conference. I am glad that Ethan mentioned that to you as well, with the new web site and a few other recent changes and upgrades, I think C-Port will be making even more progress in the future - as Ethan said - - a UNITED marine assistance front can only be GOOD for ALL of us - - Charlie

Hi Ethan, The guy standing with his back to the camera is Capt. Roger Slade. He actually did that due diligence. We actually rode together. Unfortunately he made me buy breakfast.

Richard,

C-PORT, the Marine Assistance industry's only association representing the entire industry has had quite an impact on the policy behind these meetings. The meetings are now mandated to be held twice a year and to have a representative from the Sector level attending. These kinds of meetings are hugely valuable for the continued cooperation of our industry with the Coast Guard and it's a great time to put faces to the voices behind the radios.

I hope someone mentioned C-PORT at the meeting. It's good for the variuos agency folks to see that there's a united front for all marine assistance.

BTW - we just rolled out a new C-PORT website!

Capt. Ethan Maass
Secretary of C-PORT Board of Directors
